We feel that Indian Women have been disregarded for many years, by lacking education, respect, nourishment, and many other essentials. It is not fair and we wanted to know more about the role's of Indian Women and how they have progressed throughout this period. We found out through research many things that had not previously dawned upon us such as, the ways of the past and the ways of the present, and how far India has truly come.Throughout history, Indian women tend to have been regarded lowly and unimportantly. Women were not treated well, for example they cooked the food that was to be eaten but then they ate last and ate the least, even if they were pregnant or sick. This caused malnourished children, which hurt India. They were not given much health care, so many died at a early age or during birth. Indian women did not receive respect, education, or help. Now, treating women poorly is seen as wrong and even barbaric. Indian women in higher classes recieve an education in their own language. They have come so far as to even see women getting education as an exceptional idea, also they are now capable of arguing for their own rights against men. We have come to the conclusion that Indian Women and Indian Men have come along way, they have become more open to help all of society.
^The picture on the left shows how women were expected to cook and serve dinner. The picture on the right shows that Indian women are now able to eat without eating last or the least.
< Now even young Indian girls are accepted in schools with boys.

^This proves that women in India are now given the right to work in businesses along side men.

Dialogue:
daughter: Bye mom, I'm heading off to school.
mother: I still can't believe that you have been educated so well. You have become so smart.
daughter: Why? Isn't this how it was when you were my age?
mother: No, women were not given the rights that they are today.
daughter: So, you did not go to school as a child.
mother: I was not allowed to go to school. Only men were allowed to be educated.
daughter: That seems very unfair.
mother: Not only were we uneducated but we were also treated extremely poorly.
daughter: How so?
mother: We would always make food for the entire family but were expected to eat last and eat the least. We were expected to work at home all day but would not recieve any help.
daughter: I'm happy I don't have to do that.
mother: Yes I'm happy that you don't have to go through what I went through. Young women are treated much better now. Once you are done with school you will be able to find a job and work alongside men. You will not have to worry about being malnourished, mistreated, or disrespected.
daughter: Times have definately changed.
mother: Times have changed, but for the better.
