How did the British influence India and contributed to it's modern view?

 

When the British came they created schools and let young Indian people attend them. They first tried to control India by helping them.However the British took the crops from India and brought them over to England, where the British factories were located.This caused the factories in India to shut down, because of a shortage on crops and jobs.Most of the Indian people started working for the British. The British gave the Indian jobs to create streets, bridges andother infrastructure to transport the Indian spices and other crops. However after the roads were built the Indian workers were unemployed.The same tragic fate had the people that worked in the original Indian factories. They also lost their jobs and that is how India's poverty circle began.But the British say the other side of the coin. For themritsh, they developed factories in England and gained crops from the Indians. The situation in India got worse after that, even though they got schools after and other education. High jobs, such as in the goverenment were only availible to high eduacated and lucky Indians and of cours British. Therefore, the educational base lead to never seen booming in Indias economy. Comapanies were formed and the new India made it's way to the 2nd biggest booming economy in the world. But this of course also created huge gapes inbetween social classes, shaping today view of India, as a country between old and new, economy and religion. A country between modern and tradition.

 

 

Tata Nano

The modern Indian company Tata is planing to sell

theleast expensive car, the Tata nano in Europe by 2012.

Tata includes not just car business but all kinds of economic

branches such as machinery and is therefore one of India's

largest and internationally most succesful companies

G=Gandhi

B=business man

 

G: Good afternoon sir.

B: (irritated) Good afternoon.

G: Why so unconftorble?

B: Okay, okay, here are 10 rupees.

G: For what?

B: Well aren't you a poor person?

G: This would depend on how you would define rich and poor. I personally think that I am one of the richest persons in the world.

B: Than why are you dressed like that? Where is your tie?

G: As I said, it depends.

B: (a little irritated) Depends on what?

G: (calm) Depends on what you defone as rich or poor.

B: Well shouldn't that be obvious?

G: No.

B: (angry) What do you mean no? (little pause) Ahh, now I get it. You dress like this to escape the busy life of working. Smart idea!

G: No, this is not what a mean, it's..

B: (interupting excited) Did you patent this idea? No? Wounderful! I'll start the courses on Sunday. Oh, this is going to be sooo good.

G: (irritated) Well, that's not quiet what I meant.

B: Oh no, of course, you can join free!

G: No, I mean...

     (cellphone rings)

B: Oh, sorry, I'll have to answer that. What?? Cutton droped to 23.5? What do you mean tata stocks go down? Are you serious?..... SELLL I said SELLL!!! (angry)No,

    not the American stocks! And the Germans either! Ok, enough.. just do what I say and do it quick! Sorry for the interruption.

G: Oh, thats ok. Well, back to my point. I wanted to say...

B: Oh no!! It's 19:30!! I missed my flight to Frankfurt! Oh well, I guess I'll take the next... But wait, that departs in 3 minutes. Well I'm sorry sir, but I have to go. But

G: ...What did I do?? The Indians are now even worse than the British! I am sick of all that patience stuff! It all leads to nothing! I'll go back to South Africa! Good
