As times have passed, terms of communication have changed much. In the past the generel terms of communication was through speech, if ever one wished to discuss something with anyone else they would discuss through the tounge. Traveling to the one you wish to discuss with someone was the way that people communicated. Therefore, compared to now when there are cell phones, computers, and the like the times have truly changed. If one were to ever see people running to someone elses house in order to communicate, one would call them insane and would mock them. However, in the past if one were to run to their correspondants home, the majority of the people would think that it was normal communication and would calmly ask them what they needed to discuss. Running back then seems easy to everyone for that people used their feet instead of their brains for the means of communication.
The appliances used back then and nowadays aren't that different. People these days have all the resources we need, the people in India also had all the resources they needed to develop a more modernized society that develops on the area of science and technology. Although one might say that the geography had an effect on why India is not so modernized. With great dismay, this is not true, for that the America and India is along about the same latitude. Also, one should take geography into consideration when talking about agriculture, not science and technology.
In the times of ancient india, there were no such things as cell phones, or lab tops or anything of the sort, but as time has progressed so has the technology that we are now using. In a city such as Los Angeles or New York City, one can hardly go half of a foot without seeing some type of technology. In ancient times, the main mean of communication was through running to where the person they were looking for was and then from there speak to them. Or else they would send a messenger bird or a messenger human in order to relay the message in case of a long distance letter that could not be postponed or hindered. Therefore compared to now, where one hardly moves when is to communicate to another, there is a huge difference. In the current world, one usually communicates through phones or labtops, which is email or instant messaging. In which case has made no stronger case for those who are unable to afford such technology. The indians of past did most of the running themselves and believed that the future would hold much horror for them, but now, even the most religious men use cell phones as our picture has shown. With the future lies great change, but whether it is negative or positive is based on the beholder.
The first picture shows that the past people in India ran in order to send a message from one place to another. This could take weeks or may be one month at maximum. Running could be inconvenient, but was very convenient for them at that time.
The second picture has an old man talking on his cell phone. This is the modern day Indians. The society has changed and most rich people in India do carry a cell phone. Cellular phones aren't time consuming, but it is evergy and money consuming.
These two pictures show that the old man somehow looks convenient, but he shouldn't be too much happy about it when he receives his bill at the end of the month. Though the runner does not have to pay for any energy, he is using up his own energy. The cultures have changed and so have technology. In India many people can see a great increase in the production of high technology stuffs. These two pictures are at the other ends of the rope in tug of war, where we have modern vs the past.
