Bollywood is the term used for Hindi films in India. Traditional Bollywood movies consists of the traditional boy-girl plot, clothing, and music. Modern Bollywood films contain modern style clothing, plot, and even some western language (English). We chose the topic of Bollywood because it is a large conflict that shows the differences between traditional and modern Indian ways through an aspect of art rather than commonly acknowledged topics. New Bollywood movies take away the cultural significance of the Indian culture turning it into a more western style, such as Hollywood productions. As new Bollywood movies evolve from traditional films, they still keep some similarities to distinguish between Bollywood and Hollywood, though it is not as distinct. The diversity between Hollywood and Bollywood has become similar, thusly showing a loss of culture to new generation Indians. Therefore, although there is attempt to bring balance through the tug of war between modern and traditional ways, perfect balance is unable to be achieved as both traditional and modern cultures struggle strongly for each of their ideas.

Mock Dialogue: No more Bollywood, I want Hollywood...
[Daughter is watching a modern Bollywood film when mother walk in from work...]
Mother: "What are you watching this Hollywood movie?"
Daughter: " What are you talking about? This is a Bollywood movie!"
Mother: "This is definitely not the type of Bollywood movie that I used to watch when I was a child, beta (Hindi word of endearment for child)."
Daughter: "So mom, do you see what they are wearing? Can I get some of these kind of clothes?"
Mother: "Are you crazy? Do you see how much of their skin is revealed? I don't ever want to see you in anything of this kind of clothing!"
Daughter: " But Mom! This is the new fashion! I'll be the only one not wearing mini skirts and tank tops!"
Mother: "No, this film is not showing you the proper traditional clothing that girls like you should be wearing! Remember, you are an Indian you must preserve your culture."
Daughter: " Mom, just because I wear these kind of clothes, does not mean I'm losing my culture. Seriously, come on mom, I am still Indian...DUH!"
Mother: "Did you just say DUH? You are turning into a American! You are losing your culture! I will not have you watching these kinds of films. Before I know it, you will become, one of THEM."
Daughter: "Sorry mom, I'll try to preserve my culture better. I understand what you are saying and that it's wrong to follow movies and to change because of them!"
Mother: "I am glad that you understand what I am saying.
